Cross over cable connection between two computers
Steps to connect computers by cable
1. Log out from the personal account and log into Cisco. (Fig. 01)
2. Connect the cable between the two computers (Cross over) (Fig. 02)
3. Change your IP address by going to your Settings > Network and Internet > Change adaptor options > Ethernet > Properties and type in the IP Address section 192.168.40.1 on the first computer, and 192.168.40.2 on the second one - then press OK. (Fig. 02)
4. Ping your partners IP Address by opening Command Prompt and typing "ping 192.168.40.2" on the first computer. If you have received all 4 bytes of data then the connection is successful*. (Fig. 04)
*If it didn't work, there might be a problem with the cable.
